Call 999 in an emergency. Chest pains and / or shortness of breath constitute an emergency.

Out of Hours:

An out-of-hours service is available between 18:30 - 08:30 Monday to Friday and 24 hours over weekends and bank holidays.

Ways to access:

  • NHS 111if your problem cannot wait until the next available surgery:
    • NHS 111 is a telephone advice line and signposting service for patients with urgent health problems, but which do not need a call to 999.
    • The NHS 111 service is staffed by a team of fully trained advisers, supported by experienced nurses, paramedics & doctors
    • They will ask you questions to assess your symptoms, then give you the healthcare advice you need or direct you straightaway to the local service that can help you best. That could be A&E, an out of hours doctor, an urgent care centre or a community nurse, an emergency dentist or a late-opening chemist.
    • If you have difficulties communicating or hearing, you can use the NHS 111 service through a textphone by calling 18001 111
